The Editing Process

With filming for more than a year, shooting over 90 hours of footage, the editing process is challenging but exciting. So many discoveries. So much that won’t fit in the film.

For me, most scenes start as a single moment that I feel is important or revealing. And then I work my way out from that moment, to give it the context it needs to resonate. But sometimes scenes emerge where you didn’t expect them. Where there is not so much a single moment, but a collection of moments that suddenly form a constellation. And then you wonder how you could have not seen it in the first place. If course it always helps to be working with an amazing editor like Jackie Dzuba.
